Would you like to improve your landscape painting? Have you never had the time to paint the landscape and would like give it a go? Come and join us on an art workshop and spend the day painting summer landscapes in the stunning Kentmere Valley and learn how to capture the natural beauty of the area.
You will explore different techniques for using versatile gouache paint and ways to add texture, highlights and definition using pastels. Beginners and those with some experience are welcome. You will work with Karen Lester, a very experienced tutor and landscape artist, who will provide lots of encouragement, help you to develop your skills and show you a variety of techniques to experiment with us.
Join us in our beautiful art studio in a converted lakeland barn. You can work here or outside on our traditional Lakeland farm, enjoying the peace and quiet of the valley as well as the stunning views. A delicious two course lunch is provided and we finish the day with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. The workshops are welcoming, relaxed and sociable.
Karen enjoys working with a range of painting and drawing media including printmaking, sometimes combining these to create mixed media images. Each type of medium brings its own exciting possibilities and unique qualities, something she continually explores. Her studio base is in the south Lake District, an area where she can spend time immersed in the landscape, a source of endless inspiration.
